;It is getting warmer in Toronto. Yes, we can say it is getting hot. The gardens are growing too. Me living in a high rise building does not mean that I don't have any plants. Actually, my usually reluctant hubby decided to buy me some plants soil and seeds. I have few plastic containers already. Since I got seeds, I needed more containers. I cannot buy more because after the season, I don't have space to keep all of them. Also, I am more into 3Rs now a days. So, I started to brainstorm to keep my gardening stuff going.
The answer come from the chickpea containers. (I posted about these upcycled containers last year). Since kiddoo love chickpeas, I always have those at home. I decided to use them. After removing the labels they look like this:

I used a nail and hammer to make holes in the bottom to create drainage holes. Added soil in them and they are ready for use.Even though they are perfect in that color, I wanted to give it a Bindu Design touch, you know.So I crocheted a cozy for them.

It is created using single crochet stitches. The bottom can still leave rust marks on the balcony, if I don't keep something under the container to protect the floor. First I thought, I needed to buy a plastic tray. We actually found one at the Walmart. Then I remember the non-stick griddle, which has an unexpected curve and therefore cannot be used on my glass ceramic stove top. That can serve as a tray to keep my containers.

I may have some chives and basil soon. That depend on the seeds....May be I am late to plant the seeds. Let us see....
