I made a lipstick cozy today and created a photo tutorial of it. This crocheted cozy can be attached to a keyring.
I used size 3 crochet cotton thread to create mine.
Make chain 4 and slip stich to form a ring.
Chain 1 and make 7 single crochet on the ring. (8 sc altogether)
You can use a stitch marker, if you want because we are going to continue in spirals from now on.
sc in next stitch, 2 sc in the next stitch(12 sc total)
Continue increasing till the base of the lipstick is covered by the round we are making. Mine was covered by the 12 sc.
Now, just continue working sc on top of sc till you can insert your lipstick in the cozy.
Now turn , chain 1, and do 6 sc
At the end of the row make 1 sc, but it is not counted as a stich. continue making 2 more rows of 6 single crochet. Now chain2 and make a half double crochet in the next stich. Then make chain2. Leave the next sc unworked and do half double crochet on the remaining stitches.
You can see the loop formed by the chain 2, right? Now make sc on top of the double crochet and make 3 sc on the loop and finish with sc on the half double crochet.
Now turn and make slip stitch on all of the sigle crochet to give the cozy a finished look. Finish off and weave in ends.
Add a suitable button to close it.
I added a crocheted loop to attach the cozy to the keyring.
Since it is me, I added a few more embellishments.
I wanted to add few more buttons and small crocheted flowers.
What embellishments are in your list? What kind of cozy you want to keep on the keyring?
